(pay particular attention if you’re interested in attending)

TEDx

tedxamericanriviera.com

This is one of those moments when people reading the FFF suddenly have privy to insider info that others just don’t receive. Frequent readers of SBMS’s FFF know there has been clear support of, and reference to previous TED events and presentations. SBMS has even had one of its parents, Timothy Williamson’s dad, Kevin Parent, make a TED presentation last February in Long Beach, CA.

Now? TED is coming to Santa Barbara. TEDx is scheduled for the Bacara on October 10th. 10/10/10. Will you register to attend? Guess who registered and has submitted a proposal for consideration as a presentation? Which Montessori material would he be choosing to present to the worldwide TED audience?

Log on and register, now (right now), because participation will be very limited.

Many thanks to Landon Ray for the referral. One lunch’s conversation leads to a great opportunity for all of us at SBMS.

Has everyone read the Newsweek article about creativity? Have you read Nuture Shock? Now is the time. Giddy up!

Summer Sessions Update

Wilderness Camp

Primitive tribes have been seen wandering the sands of the Goleta Slough; archers are firing along SBMS’s field, and hikers were enjoying the cooling waters of the Santa Ynez River as they explored the valley. Jack Kamps’ smile spread from ear to ear as he explained the rocks and cliffs that were doubling as the groups jumping platform. Island nation. Check Nicole Borden’s form with the bow…it’s not longer a tale of Robin and Marian, it just might be Marian and Robin!

Next week’s schedule has Juniper, Rosa, and Charlie wrapping up the summer sessions. Drop by for a tee-shirt, popcorn, coffee, tea, or some red vines. Or, wait until everyone gets back in late August. In service week begins August 23. Some of us will be around as early as August 18.
