New Maria Montessori website

www.mariamontessori.com

This site isn’t SBMS’s new site, but is a parallel project along with MAA; it’s intention is to bring a new fresh perspective to all those families considering Montessori as their school of choice. Whether their children will go to independent school, and if so, which one? What type?

Summer Sessions Update

“Biology Field Study Program”

SBMS’s Green Camping Adventure

Plaskett Creek! Who knew? A few miles north of Gorda, 35 miles north of W.R. Hearst’s Castle at San Simeon, Plaskett Creek was the home of SBMS’s elementary students for four days and three nights. With Terry Benedetto along as camping aficionado, the entire clan enjoyed the greenness of camping without paper products…washing dishes, and plates, and cups, and preparing our meals from scratch and natural and organic ingredients…dutch ovens for peach cobbler and breakfast burritos! Hikes, walks, geology, needs of plants, Native American stories and lessons, serpentine, and piedras blancas were all part of the experience! Oh, and swimming, too. Swimming? In REALLY COLD water!

The college students from San Jose’s Evergreen Community College showed up and declared, “Hey, these kids are doing the same work we’re doing!” Indeed!

Turns out SBMS can now officially rename its future summer school camping expeditions; Biology Field Study Programs.

Rock the Casbah available on DVD (we restocked!)

Both videos are featured in this two-for-one package. DVDs are free to those willing to arrive at the front desk before too long. Summer session families have received their DVDs and there are still a dozen or so looking for a home. HD full panoramic quadraphonic sound.
